Meet the CEO

Rhonda Brown

Rhonda has over 18 years of experience in financial management, with a proven track record of success in various industries. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Alabama Huntsville, a master’s degree in Personal Financial Planning from Kansas Status University, is an Enrolled Agent (authorized to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service) and an Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) through the Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education (AFCPE). She is also a CPA candidate.

Rhonda was driven to start Empowered 4 Finance years after she worked as an Internal Revenue Service tax auditor. She attributes her experience as an auditor as the driving force behind helping businesses and independent professionals both understand their tax situation and strategically plan to improve it.“I was the face behind the notice that people received when they were selected for an audit. I audited an older couple who ended up faced with a $10k tax bill that they could not afford because their tax professional made up items to include on their return. I could tell they didn’t have a clear understanding of how they had reached this situation and I felt helpless. I knew I would have a greater impact helping clients navigate the system and understand their tax situations more clearly.”
